Monkey's Alaska Adventure

Monkey's Alaska Adventure

Monkey's Passport

Monkey gets ready for his trip to Alaska in June 2009.

Monkey is leaving out of Seattle. He finds the ship, Amsterdam, and get's ready to board. You can tell by the look on his face that he is worried about getting through security.

Monkey finally gets on the ship and settles into his room. "I like that they feed you lunch as soon as you are on the ship," Monkey says as he smiles broadly. "I also like the pillows. They are very fluffy."

A day later …

Sea Sick

Monkey does not like sailing through open water with moderate seas. Oh, did he mention the near gale force winds? Tummy no bueno. Hey Monkey! Don't go in there. That's the Ladies Room!
Monkey was too sick to care.

Juneau

Monkey feels better and eats breakfast on Monday in the dinning room. Pretty swanky!

Monkey heads in to Juneau and takes a tour. $27! It better be a good tour for that price.  What will Monkey see? (I hear that there are bears near the governor's mansion--especially on garbage day.)

Out for some sightseeing at Mendenhall Glacier. That water looks cold!

Monkey finds some friends to play with along the way. Boy, these Alaskans play rough!

After that adventure Monkey had to get some refreshment at the Red Dog Saloon.  "I especially liked the piano player," Monkey said. "He was very entertaining and could really tell a joke."  Monkey suddenly shouts, "Hey everybody! Look who's here!"

Towel Friends

Monkey meets some more new friends. These ones don't play as rough.

"Are you my Mommy?" Monkey wonders.

On the Amsterdam

Monkey though that he'd hang around the hot tub for a while.

Sitka

"I really enjoyed the Raptor Center in Sitka," Monkey reported. "It was quite the ride !"

Ketchikan

Ketchikan was one of Monkey's favorite stops.

"Thank you, Kelly, for the fabulous zip line adventure," Monkey says after he catches his breath. "What a rush!"  Monkey's abs were sore for a couple of days after the zip line tour. He plans to do some preparatory crunches before he goes on the zip line again.

What a fantastic adventure Alaska is.
